Tips and Tricks for the best Dog Photoshoot

Recently I took my dog Bibi to a stellar lake and had a small photoshoot. I was pretty happy with the pictures I took and thought I can help out anyone else who might want to take their dog a picture. So without further ado, here are some tips and tricks to take the best photos of your dog.

- Lighting
Without proper lighting
With proper lighting

TIP: Start the shoot either one hour after sunrise or one hour before sunset. Also, make sure your dog's face is hitting the light source.

- Grooming
Well-Groomed
Not well-groomed

TIP: Make sure your dog is well groomed.
TRICK: Carry a dog brush in your bag for touch-ups throughout the day.

- Clothes (optional)

TIP: Give your dog some style and buy it some cute clothes, it will make your photo shoot much better. However, if your dog doesn't like clothes you shouldn't force it to wear clothes.

- Angles

TIP: Try to find your dogs best angle by experimenting with various angles to take the perfect picture.
TRICK: Get a dog treat and hold it directly above your camera and it will look like your dog is staring directly at the camera. You can also move the dog treat anywhere you desire to make it seem as though your dog is looking there.

- Editing

Roxy the Survivor

Roxy just out of the groomers
Roxy is 6 years old and is the mother of eight pups. She has gone through a lot in these past years but one thing is for sure Roxy is a fighter. One casual evening she was in the backyard, when Roxy found a way to get past the gate into the lake it was a tight squeeze ,but she managed to do it. Thats when she found an abnormally large dog also in the lake, no one knows what happened for sure just that she came home with blood dripping from her eye and her eye popped from her head. We rushed into the pet emergency room, they x-rayed Roxy and found teeth marks in the back of her head. The veterinarian said that another dog double her size bit her causing her eye to come out, they gave us the option to permanently close her eye or give her a plastic eye, we chose to close her eye. That's why we see Roxy in the picture above with her hair covering her eye. Now lets talk about her children, Roxy has had lots of children thats because she is a pure breed  Maltese, so we decided to reunite one of her children to see how she'd react the picture is below:
Roxy seeing her child for the first time again
Immediately when Roxy saw her son she was ecstatic and strangely her son started peeing everywhere, but they were both delighted to see each other.
We let Roxy go out every morning to do her business, that was until one day we realized that Roxy had been gaining lots of weight we though it was just because we were feeding her a lot, but one day out of nowhere she started to act strange and was building what seemed like a tent, we all wondered why she was doing that. When we noticed that she was pregnant and was about to give birth we immediately called the veterinarian, we were all surprised no one knew that she was pregnant but there was one thing we did know who the father was. You see, there was a miniature pinscher that would come to our lawn everyday and we would see him with a new dog every day. The vet had to give Roxy a C section since the puppies were too big to give birth the natural way.

When Roxy gave birth she had two puppies in her womb one didn't make it since the father was bigger than Roxy and because the veterinarian came to late. But the second puppy which was so small that she could fit in my hand was a miracle we decided to name it something to show how beautiful she was we decided to name her Black Beauty (Bibi for short).
